Hi All,
So I have a confession that you might find shocking... Go ahead, sit down and prepare yourself! I am a single girl and I kinda love Valentine's Day! What? Shocking I know! But come on who doesn't love love? And I guess I should clarify. I don't love the cheesy chocolates in heart shaped boxes and all that gift hoopla but come on I love love and I do love myself! And that's why I love Valentine's Day because it is a day for me to spoil me! Let's face it I know my taste in chocolate (chocolate with peanut butter or caramel obviously are the best) better than anyone! Also, who doesn't love February 15th when chocolate is ridiculously cheap!
There are plenty of ways to be alone on Valentine's day and still have a kick ass time! Let me share with you how I have survived spending my fair share of Valentine's days alone.
Dinner and a Movie: The quickest way to a woman's heart is through her stomach? Well maybe not but I do love food! Cook yourself a gourmet meal or grab your favorite take out! Absolutely don't forget the dessert! And then hunker down in front of the television and watch a movie. You could go totally against the holiday and watch a horror, though I am to big of a baby to watch scary movies alone, but I am a big fan of the cheesy romance. I would recommend - He's Just Not That Into You, 10 Things I Hate About You, Crazy Stupid Love or anything with Ryan Gosling. You could also go with Magic Mike I mean what doesn't say I am single more than oogling over shirtless Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello. So Beautiful!
Spoil Your Body: Treat yourself to a spa day! Massage, pedicure, manicure, etc. It may be February and in Wisconsin no one will be seeing your toes for months but hell, I still like my feet to be pretty and what a better way to treat yourself than to a pedicure and manicure. Not much makes me feel better than being pampered so I would even spend Valentine's Day just getting my hair done.
So this year I challenge all of you single ladies out there to not be depressed on Valentine's day but to embrace it and love yourself!
Catch Up on Some Reading: Let's be honest you might just want to be hiding in your house away from all the romance and the nauseating PDAs. So why not find your favorite spot on the couch and curl up with the fluffy blanket and catch up on some reading. I will be finished Alliegant by Veronica Roth and beginning the Matched Trilogy by Allie Condie.
Shopping Spree: There is never a better time to drop butt loads of money on yourself then when you are spending what is supposed to be "The Most Romantic" day of the year alone. Seriously just go to the mall and buy everything that makes you happy! Don't forget the panties because let's be honest new underewear and possibly the best thing in the world.
If all else fails sit your ass in front of the TV and stuff your face with overpriced chocolate and a pint of Ben and Jerrys. Find that marathon of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and judge each and every one of them. Flip through that Cosmo and learn all about the love you will have one day. And just be happy with yourself! One day you will be one of those cliche couples holding hands at dinner and feeding each other your desserts.
And remember a women's best accessory is her Smile! :)
